Believe it or not, it’s been a full year since we closed our deal and became a part of Global Imaging Systems, Inc. I am happy to report that it’s been a VERY successful transition.
I give much credit to the awesome team at Zoom; they have managed the process extremely well. I also want to thank everyone at Global for helping us to integrate the Xerox product line and feel a part of the Global Family. Of course the thanks wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t show our appreciation to Toshiba for being a loyal, understanding partner throughout this process.
Major change is often accompanied with fear and anxiety, such was the case for myself, the Zoom employees, our business partners and of course our loyal customers. But change also brings excitement, renewed vigor, and opportunity.
As it turns out the fear and anxiety was unfounded and opportunities have come our way in abundance. As a part of Global our business has grown and our knowledge base has expanded exponentially. As I’ve become more familiar with the rest of the Global Core companies I am impressed with the level of talent within the organization. The willingness to share that knowledge is even more impressive.
Global has lived up to their commitment of allowing Zoom to remain an independently run operation. The fundamental things that helped to build Zoom into such a vibrant, successful organization have remained largely unchanged.
Even before sale of Zoom was announced our competitors did their best to prophesize how bad everything was going to turn out. The rumors were rampant; Global would ruin our business, customer service would suffer, Toshiba would drop us, and employees would leave en masse. Frankly the rumors got down right ridiculous…
As usual our competitors didn’t know what they were talking about. None of these things came to pass and just the opposite has been true. We just completed our biggest year ever with Toshiba and won the Toshiba Western Regional Dealer of the Year award. By adding Xerox to our product mix we’ve gained access to a market segment that has been unavailable to us in the past. All of this resulted in double digit growth in 2013 and the only thing holding us back is finding high quality sales and service professionals that can help drive that growth even higher in 2014.
Zoom has never been healthier and the future path is full of opportunity. I am really looking forward to another successful year in 2014!
